Breaking News: The BlackBerry KEYone is Delayed Until May in the US and Canada

The BlackBerry KEYone is one of the most anticipated BlackBerry devices in recent memory.  The full qwerty keyboard device from BlackBerry Mobile (TCL) was reveled during Mobile World Congress at the end of February. During the revel the BlackBerry KEYone was stated to have a world wide launch date of April 2017.  However, that is not the case.

During today’s Fourth Quarter Earnings call, BlackBerry CEO John Chen stated that TCL would begin their first manufacturing production for the KEYone run sometime at the end of April. This will be pushing the BlackBerry KEYone’s availability to May.  To confirm this TCL North America President Steve Cistulli, stated the below tweets.

While this isn’t the best news to end the month of March, it is good to see that BlackBerry Mobile and TCL are trying to make sure they can meet the consumer demand for the BlackBerry KEYone. They have seen a lot of customers pre order the device, ever since they opened up pre-orders back at Mobile World Congress.  It’s bad news but it also means more folks will have a chance at getting the BlackBerry KEYone.  One thing that isn’t clear is what about the rest of the areas getting the BlackBerry KEYone? I am sure they will be pushed back as well but no official word has come from BlackBerry Mobile yet. If we hear anything we will bring it to you!
